Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data the kenn.pro network collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
"kenn.pro" (the "network", "we", "us") is a personal network of connected applications operated from the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Our servers and databases are hosted in Germany (European Union).
For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact [email protected].
What this policy covers
This policy applies to kenn.pro and every app that signs you in through our central login at auth.kenn.pro — currently the main site, the social/messaging service, the CS2 highlight-clipping app, and our AI and developer-sandbox apps. Because all of these use one shared account, your identity data is collected once, at sign-in, and shared between the apps you choose to use.
Some standalone tools that don't use a kenn.pro account (for example browser-only utilities that keep everything on your device) are not covered here; where that's the case, the tool says so.
The data we collect
Account & identity (at sign-in)
We don't run our own passwords. You sign in through an identity provider — Google, Discord, GitHub, Steam or Patreon — and that provider sends us a limited profile: a provider account ID, your username/display name, your email address (except Steam, which never shares email), and your avatar. We store this to create and run your account. You may also set and verify a primary email address, and upload an avatar image.
Membership status
If you have a "kenn.plus" membership, we store its status and dates. Where membership comes through Patreon, we read your membership/pledge status from Patreon to grant access.
Technical & security data
To keep accounts secure and show you your active sessions, we record, per device and login: your IP address, browser/device user-agent, a device label, sign-in and last-active timestamps, and which apps a device has been used with. We also set a long-lived device identifier cookie — see the Cookie Policy.
Social & messaging
If you use the social features, we store your friends list and requests, notifications, and presence (online status and which app you're currently in). Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted: we store only encrypted ciphertext plus routing metadata (sender, recipient, timestamps, read state) — we cannot read your messages. We also hold encrypted key-backup blobs that only you can unlock with your PIN.
Game data (CS2 clips app)
If you use the clips app, we store your Steam ID and persona name, the CS2 Game Authentication Code and match share codes you provide, and the matches we discover for you — including parsed match statistics, positional replay data, and the highlight videos we generate. To build a match, we also store basic data about the other players in that match (their Steam IDs, persona names, avatars and scoreboard stats), even if they don't use kenn.pro — see "Data about other people" below.
Sharing is a core purpose of this app: by design you can link and share your matches and highlight clips with other people — for example your kenn.pro friends or anyone you send a link to. When you do, the people you share with can view that clip and the match details it contains. You control what you share, and a privacy setting lets you hide your matches from friends who weren't in them.
AI & developer apps
If you use our AI assistant or developer-sandbox apps, we store the content you put into them — for example your conversations, the projects and files you create, and any credentials you choose to save there so the tools can act on your behalf.
Why we use your data, and our legal basis
- To provide your account and the apps you use — basis: performance of our contract with you.
- To keep the network secure (device/session records, the device-identifier security cookie, IP logging, rate limiting, abuse prevention) — basis: our legitimate interests in protecting the service and its users, and the necessity of securing a service you've asked for.
- To manage kenn.plus membership — basis: contract.
- To send service emails such as email-verification codes — basis: contract / legitimate interests.
- For anything we ask your consent for — basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We share it only with:
- Identity providers (Google, Discord, GitHub, Steam, Patreon) — you exchange data with them when you sign in or link an account.
- Steam / Valve — the clips app queries Valve's services to resolve your matches and player profiles.
- Email delivery — Zoho, used to send account emails such as verification codes.
- AI providers — where you use AI features, your prompts/content are sent to the underlying model provider (for example Anthropic, or a model gateway such as OpenRouter) to generate a response.
- Our hosting provider in Germany, which stores the data on our behalf.
These act as our service providers / sub-processors, or as independent controllers in the case of the identity providers and Valve (whose own privacy policies then apply).
International transfers
Our own storage is in the EU. Some of the third parties above (for example US-based identity, AI or Steam services) process data outside the UK/EU. Where that happens, those transfers rely on the providers' own safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
How long we keep it
We keep account and identity data for as long as your account exists. Sessions and refresh tokens expire automatically (within about 14 days of inactivity). Security/device records and app content are kept while they remain useful for running and securing the service, and are removed when you delete the relevant data or your account. If you'd like something deleted sooner, contact us.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you have the right to:
- access a copy of your data;
- correct inaccurate data;
- erase your data ("right to be forgotten");
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- data portability;
- withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing).
To exercise any of these — including a copy of your data or full deletion — email [email protected]. We handle these requests manually and will action them within one month, as the law requires. You can also delete your account yourself, which removes your identity data from the network. If you think we've mishandled your data, you can complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk; if you're in the EU, you can complain to your national data-protection authority instead.
Data about other people
The clips app necessarily records limited data about other players who appear in your matches, even if they have no kenn.pro account, because a match can't be reconstructed without them. We rely on our legitimate interest in providing the feature, and we keep this to publicly observable in-game data (Steam ID, persona, avatar, scoreboard). If you're one of those players and want your data removed, contact [email protected].
Children
The network isn't intended for children under 13 (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country). We don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy. We'll change the "updated" date above and, for significant changes, give notice in the app.
